Federal regulators on Wednesday approved Erbitux, the drug at the center of the Martha Stewart stock scandal, as the first new drug to treat head and neck cancer since the 1950s.

The Food and Drug Administration initially approved the drug in 2004 to treat colorectal cancer. The drug may now be used in combination with radiation to treat patients with squamous cell cancer of the head and neck that cannot be removed by surgery.

First Donald Trump and now Rosie O'Donnell, who turns 44 this month, isn't happy with friend Martha Stewart.

But at least O'Donnell, often called "the Queen of Nice," doesn't hold a grudge.

She appeared on the 100th episode of Stewart's daytime talk show -- her second visit -- and made it clear that she wasn't happy that Stewart never made it to see her perform in Broadway's "Fiddler on the Roof."

I wanted to write to Martha when she was in prison. I figured she'd have time to read my story, but I didn't write. It's crazy what our judicial system has come to. We lost in district court, a case that was plainer than day. We were not paid fairly for work we did. In the absence of a contract the judge should have ruled quantum meruit ( fair pay for the value of one's services). A supposed contract (prepared by the contractor) did not include pricing, location of work, etc. Those are essential elements of a contract. They must be easily comprehended. The contractor mislead us, the subcontractor, into believing that pricing was determinable or forthcoming. Then he withheld pricing until the work was completed. In the end we had to pay him for a job well done. In other words he paid us about 1/2 of what the job was work, so we lost money. There were absolutely no issues with the quality of our work. The superior and supreme courts upheld the lower courts' rulings. Very disturbing, very. It's sad that I will not be able to afford to take this to U.S. Supreme Court. If I was a murderer however, an attorney would be appointed me. How ironic. I'm desperate to get my story out. I've tried many agencies. They are all just a front. They won't help.

Ex-con and domestic diva Martha Stewart says she was happy to give advice to fellow inmates during her five months behind bars for lying to authorities about a stock sale.

"They have a lot of time to think and plan for the future, and they should be encouraged to," the 64-year-old lifestyle guru said.

"In many of these institutions there are no consultants, no real teachers to help these women, some of whom are incarcerated for 20 years. I was happy to be of use."

Martha Stewart Living has suddenly emerged as the hot title within a languishing magazine advertising marketplace, MediaPost reports. While the title was a virtual untouchable among advertisers while Ms. Stewart was serving time in Federal prison, it's now a must-buy while most other big magazine titles see their ad pages erode. Living's ad pages jumped 43.6 percent in September versus September 2004. Ad pages for all PIB-measured magazines fell 1.3 percent in September. Through the first nine months of 2005, Living's pages are up 11.5 percent, while the PIB total is up just 1.0 percent.

Martha Stewart might be planning her big TV comeback Wednesday when her version of The Apprentice airs, but investors have been tuned in for months.

Investors have been puffing Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) stock up even while the company burned 14% of its cash in the past year and struggles with weak revenue.

The company has lost money in seven of the eight quarters following Stewart's indictment for obstruction of justice in June 2003 involving ImClone stock trades.

Martha Stewart is in hot pursuit of the 30-plus female.

The publication, which the company plans to launch some time next year, would be the first since Stewart was released from prison in March.

The news comes as the homemaking diva‘s company is polishing up the image of its founder and turning around its fortunes.

Stewart‘s new syndicated morning show called "Martha," debuted on Monday to good reviews, and a prime time show called "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" begins airing on Sept. 21. That show is unaffiliated with the company, but the brand is expected to profit from the exposure

Homemaking guru and ex-convict Martha Stewart answered all manner of questions about her new "Apprentice" show in a publicity appearance on Thursday except the one that's been asked most -- what slogan will she use to dismiss contestants from the show?

"What makes you think there is a slogan?" she joked as she talked about her reality TV show modeled after Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" and his famed line of "You're fired."

Viewers will have to wait until Sept. 21, when the show debuts on NBC television, with 10 women and six men competing for a job at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc (MSO.N: Quote, Profile, Research).

Stewart, who hosted reporters and photographers at her Manhattan studio to promote "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" and her live daytime how-to show "Martha," was candid and good-natured about the five months she spent in federal prison for lying about a stock trade.

Martha Stewart's daughter Alexis will be joining her (in the kitchen?) as a sidekick on her Apprentice reality show. MSLO chairman Charles Koppelman will fill the other lieutenant seat.
